DEVELOPMENT

Before becoming a Director, I worked extensively in development for leading production companies. I’ve got a strong track record of generating ideas, gaining access to institutions, finding stories, securing exclusive interviews and pitching.

I still have an active slate of ideas which I pitch directly to commissioners or farm out to different indies.

Some of the commissioned projects I’ve originated or developed include:

Lucy Worsley’s Merry Tudor Christmas, BBC2 1 x 60’

  • Originated idea and developed to commission.

Women Who Kill, Channel 4, 2 x60’

  • Originated idea and developed to commission. After securing access to female murderers across 4 US states, went on to produce and edit produce the series.

Miriam’s Big American Adventure, BBC1, 3 x 60’

  • Developed the series, devised the episode breakdown/ themes, plotted the route and wrote the commissioned treatment. This was Miriam Margolyes’ first of many BBC doc series.

Inside The Heist, Discovery +, 6 x60’

  • Funded development. Found the cast of contributors - some were new to TV.

Trawlermen Tales, ITV1, 3 x 60’

  • Gained access to the characters and made the commissioned taster tape.

Slow Train Through Africa with Griff Rhys Jones, ITV1, 5 x 60’

  • Wrote the commissioned treatment, devised episode breakdown/ themes and plotted route.

Harold Shipman, Dr. Death, ITV1, 1 x 60’

  • Originated and developed idea to commission.

Bought With Love: The Secret History Of British Art Collections, BBC4, 3 x 60’

  • Originated idea, devised episode breakdown/ themes, wrote commissioned treatment.
