I’m a Director with over 15 years’ experience of making high-end documentaries for the UK and US markets. With an emphasis on retrospective storytelling, my films range from hard-hitting true crime to presenter-led celebrations of iconic historical figures. Whatever the story, I bring visual flair and narrative clarity to projects that reach a broad popular audience.
My documentaries have been nominated for awards and won great reviews. The Footballer Fraudster, a 90’ feature for ITV1/ Netflix, was nominated for a Broadcast Digital Award (Best True Crime Film) and a True Crime Award (Outstanding Documentary). Described as ‘slick’ by the Radio Times, and ‘dissected with precision’ by the Daily Mail, it reached no.4 on Netflix ‘UK Films’ chart.
Accomplished working with presenters, I’ve directed top on-screen talent including Richard E Grant, Keeley Hawes, Dermot O’Leary, Stephen Fry and Chris Ramsey.
Although comfortable working with crews, many of my films have been self-shot.
I also work extensively as an Edit Producer across the whole range of factual TV – fact-ent formats, observational documentaries, presenter-led formats, true crime and archive-driven history series.
In addition to film-making, I’ve got a strong track record as a Development Executive. I’ve managed development teams, won commissions and work on my own slate of ideas in between directing. Please click on the ‘Development’ page for more details.
