THE REAL PRINCE PHILIP: A ROYAL OFFICER – CHANNEL 4

PRODUCER/ DIRECTOR (SELF-SHOOTING)

A biographical film about Prince Philip with an emphasis on his military career. Drawing on an unseen interview from the archive of the British Forces Broadcasting Service, it argued that his years in the Navy shaped his later achievements, equipping him to deal with his unique role as prince consort. Contributors included those who had worked with him; historians were filmed uncovering rare documents in the National Archives, as well as the archives of the Royal Naval College in Dartmouth and his old school Gordonstoun.

The film was self-shot.

It was broadcast on Channel 4 as an obituary film on the weekend of Prince Philip’s death.
